Garlic Honey Pork Tenderloin (low salt, low fat)
Ages ago, my ex-boss invited a few of us to his home. He served us a pork fillet that was soft and tender and covered in a creamy sauce. Today, I am trying to replicate the soft, tender pork fillet but serve it with a garlic honey sauce to reduce the fat content.
INGREDIENTS
1 pork tenderloin pork fillet
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 garlic clove (chopped)
MARINADE:
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
SAUCE:
2 tsp low salt soy sauce
1/4 cup (4 Tbsp) honey
1 tsp mirin
METHOD
Sprinkle the marinade over the pork. Massage the seasoning into the pork and leave for 15 minutes.
Preheat oven to 180⁰C.
Heat the oil in a cast iron pan. Add the marinated pork and sear until golden.
Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
Pour the sauce in. Turn pork once, then immediately transfer to the oven.
Bake in the oven until the internal temperature reaches 68⁰C (about 15 minutes).
Remove the pork onto a serving plate and cover loosely with foil. Rest it for 5 minutes.
Heat the pan with the sauce and simmer until the liquid reduces down to thin syrup (about 3 minutes).
Put pork in and turn to coat with the sauce.
Slice pork into thick slices and serve with the sauce.
